How We Work

Triage is a term that comes from the French verb “trier”, meaning to separate, sift or select. It is “the process of determining the priority of patients’ treatments based on the severity of their condition.” Triaging allows us to determine the order and priority of emergency treatment and to treat patients efficiently.

We are an emergency clinic, which means we run in a similar manner to a human emergency room. We function using the triage system, so you will be asked questions based on your pet’s problem and past history when you get to the clinic. Calling ahead to alert us of your pet’s condition will better help us triage them more efficiently.
